Frequently Asked Questions

I sincerely hope that the images we capture will become
treasured heirlooms for you and your loved ones. This information is intended to help you prepare for
your photo session…

What (to wear): My style of photography is mostly casual and candid, therefore I recommend keeping clothing simple and comfortable. It is important to wear clothing that suits you and your child, but try to stay away from logo`s, floral and busy plaid patterns. Bright solid colors with jeans or Khaki`s work great!
If more than one person is being photographed, dress in similar or complementary colors. Think of a coordinated collection, not a matching uniform! Small children and babies look best in solid colors or simple prints. Newborns look most comfortable and natural in the nude. Don’t worry about skin flaws…
a few touch ups on my end can remove them, and “perfect” your skin! These suggestions are simply suggestions, so if you'd like to do something totally different, feel free! Your photos should reflect your personality, not mine.

For some visuals be sure to check my home page for "what to wear" posts.

What (to expect): I always plan for a session to last however it takes! This can mean 1-2 hours or more if needed. This gives your child time to become comfortable with me and the camera. I try to be simple and to capture unique pictures as they happen with little to no direction.
All sessions are by appointment only.

When: I photograph using natural light, either outside or inside using window light. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to utilize natural light. However, there are many locations throughout San Antonio that have good light at any time of day. Photo sessions can take anywhere from 30 minutes
to 2 hours; please plan accordingly. When you are scheduling your photo session, please keep your child's nap time and meal time in mind. It helps the session to go much smoother if children are well rested and not hungry.

Where: Your session will be shot on the location of your choice. Location photography allows you to choose the style you want for your portrait. This can be an outdoor setting or at your own home. There are many wonderful locations in San Antonio to do photo sessions. Some of my personal favorites are locations in various parks and even some "downtown" locations. If you have a fun backyard, a farm, or anywhere that you would like to have your portraits taken, let me know and we can make arrangements.

How: Once our session is complete I will begin basic editing of your images. More extensive editing is available upon request for a nominal fee. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks after your photo session, for your online private gallery to be available for viewing. You will then be able to make your selections and place your order. Once I have received payment for your order, you will receive your items in approximately 2 weeks. If you should happen to order a digital package I will provide you with a print release form that will allow you to print the images at home or at a photo lab, and share them with friends and family online.

Due to the nature of the product/service, all purchases are non-refundable; however, Session fees are transferable, should a session need to be rescheduled. If you have any other questions please feel free to drop me a line at rachel@artwarmingphotography.com
