a new project...

I have a new project that I need your help with, help me decide what color to pick. I got a great deal on two new prop chairs and they need to be repainted but I'm having a difficult time making a decision. Feel free to post your ideas and I will decide from there!
Chair #1

Chair #2

  1. Chair #1 paint white and put a white/black cow hide fabric on seat.

Chair #2 paint multi bright colors! Each rung a different color!

  2. Hmm...not sure exactly which colors, but I'd definitely go light on both. Whites, yellows or at least a bright color.

  3. Gosh, I guess it depends what kind of mood you want to create, playful or pensive! Chair one speaks to me as a formal, serious seat, one you could play violin in or have Sunday dinner in wearing your organza dress with mass petticoats! If it were me (and it's NOT!) I'd clean it up and revive the medium tone wood finish then get a couple of light and dark upholstered seat squares to snap in as your subject demands. To me, chair 2 definitely says farm house casual, "pull me up and have a cuppa Joe in your curlers and slippers"! I guess you could always toss on a fabric slip cover to further change the mood/season for each...? Great finds, can't wait to see what you come up with!!

  4. Thanks for the responses everyone, glad to know people are reading this, lol.

I played around and found some great fabric for chair #1...and I think I'm going to go with light turquoise blue with a cool black and white print fabric. Chair #2, Mike said it best when he responded with..."why not Red!?!?" Imagine that, red?

Both of these will stand off in a neutral background and not be overwhelming...just to give a little pop, at least that is what I am hoping for. Another plus is that both of these should be gender neutral for the most part too.

Now just have to find time and ambition to finish the task! If you haven't posted your idea yet please do...there are always more chairs out there that need makeovers and a girl can always change her mind right?
